Lighting a match for the atheist revolution since 2009
What exactly do you mean by “go public”?
I’m really just asking if your atheism is hidden amongst casual acquaintances, co-workers, etc.
I’m not an atheist, and I read your blog, and I think you bring up some interesting points. It is interesting to think about the convenience of human intervention, and etc, and the possibility it is just chance and the natural process. Thanks for giving the world something to think about.
I fear losing my job/income and I fear the effect it will have on my relationship with my family. I am a choir director at a Southern Baptist Church (SBC) and my father is a Southern Baptist pastor. My brother in law is also a music director at a SBC church.
I am much less concerned over what my friends will think. Many of them are of a like mind, or at least are far more liberal than my immediate family. The one conservative friend that I have and am in contact with on a weekly basis I think would still accept me as a friend (though I would avoid discussing religion with him, as I already avoid discussing politics with him).
